Sint Maarten : Man stabbed during fight

On Saturday February 8th at approximately 12.05 p.m. a police patrol was sent to a home Miracle Drive in Cole Bay for a fight between two men, whereby one man had stabbed the other.

On the scene the officers spoke to a witness who sated that the fight started inside of the house and continued outside.

The man who later turned out to be the victim in this case according to witnesses first attacked the other man with a machete and a stone. The suspect then saw the opportunity to grab the victim and stabbed him with a pointed object.

The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment.

The suspect turned himself in and has been placed in custody for further investigation. The victim is stable and remains in hospital for observation.
