Sint Maarten. Couple robbed by scooter riders
On Saturday January 4th at approximately 02.00 a.m. a Simpson Bay police patrol was sent to “Dunes Casino” where a couple who had been robbed were waiting on police assistance.
On site the investigating officers spoke to the victims who stated that they were walking on beach next to the “Sunset Beach Bar “. At that time the couple was approached by about six persons on scooters.
The victims could not give any description of the suspects because it was too dark. The male victim stated he was threatened by one of the suspects with a black handgun of a large caliber.
Both victims were robbed by these persons on the scooters of several bank cards, wallet, house keys, driver license, car keys, purse, Cellular phones and I pad. After committing this act the suspects took off on their scooters.
The Special Robbery Unit is investigating this case.
