Sint Maarten. Information packages for the 15th edition of the Regatta Art Competition are available

As part of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, information packages for the 15th edition of the Regatta Art Competition are available.

The Regatta Art Competition is a fun way for children of all ages to become acquainted with sailing and the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta. The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta has a great impact on the island and therefore we think it is very important that the local community is involved as much as possible. During the Regatta Art Competition, children will complete different assignments depending on their age, and we will reward the top three creative entries per assignment. Local artists will judge the finished assignments and this will be followed by a prize ceremony.

You can pick up your assignment package from the Regatta Office, located next to the bridge in Simpson Bay, or at van Dorp, Simpson Bay or Madame Estate!

As part of the Regatta Art Competition, the Beach Clean Up, which is a new initiative introduced in 2012, will be organized again as well. The goal is to have children clean up the beach, working towards a ‘’Green Regatta’’. The class who collect the most garbage will win a prize. This is also a great way for the children to fulfill their community hours!

Beach Clean Up: Saturday, December 7th, 2013. KimSha Beach from 08.00 – 12.00. Parents and teachers are welcome to join; we have a great program organized by the Regatta Office, the Nature Foundation and Les Brown.

Deadline handing in assignments: Friday, February 7th, 2014. 17.00

Prize ceremony: Sunday, February 23rd, 14.00 at the St. Maarten Yacht Club, Simpson Bay.
