Sint Maarten. Two men shot, one dies during incident
On Saturday November 9th at approximately 09.25 p.m. police patrols, Detectives and paramedics were directed to Flanders Bar on Sucker garden road for a shooting incident.
On the scene the investigating officers spoke to a witness who stated that shortly before he heard several gun shots fired in the parking lot at the back of the building and was told that someone had been shot behind the building.
During the investigation on the scene the officers encountered the lifeless body of the man with initials R.B. (23) from Guyana who had been shot several times and was not showing any signs of life. When the victim was found, he was sitting behind the steering wheel of a gray colored Kia Rio. A medical doctor who came to the scene pronounced the death of this victim.
As the investigation continued the officers were informed that a second victim in this incident was brought to the Sint Maarten Medical Center to be treated for gun shot wounds he had suffered. This victim with the initials A.B. was treated and then admitted for observation.
The Detectives are questioning witnesses and the Forensic Department immediately started collecting evidence in the attempt to bring some clarity to this case.
Up until this press release no suspect or suspects have been arrested in this case. There reason for this shooting is still entirely unclear why this incident took place and who the persons are that are responsible. The Police Department is asking anyone who may have information that could shed some light on this case to use the tip-line (9300) and share this information.
