Sint Maarten. Police Report

On Thursday October 24th around 12.00 midday the police dispatcher received a call from the SMMC that a lady had presented herself there with a dead Fetus.

Upon arrival of the personnel from the detective and forensic department they were met by a social worker and a doctor that informed them that the lady with the initials S.H.S from the Dom.Rep was brought into the emergency room by Ambulance the night before and was complaining of severe pain in her stomach and was bleeding heavily. 

Upon examination of the doctor on call it was discovered that the lady was approximately 17 to 18 weeks pregnant and had given birth a fetus that had died not to long after she had given birth. Further examination and investigation proved that the lady had bought some pills on the street in the Dom.Rep when she found out that she was pregnant and wanted to be rid of this.

 Upon orders of the Public prosecutor the fetus was confiscated pending further investigation.

The mother remained in the hospital for further observation. The detective department is further investigating this case.

The police department is hereby informing the general public not to buy any type of medication on the streets and should seek professional medical advice in such cases.

On Thursday October 24th  around 3.00pm the patrol from the Uniform department of the Simpson bay Sub Station was dispatched to the business of Siccardi Imports for a armed robbery.

Upon arrival of the patrol they were met by the owner of the establishment with the initials A.O.L from Guadeloupe that informed them that not to long ago two armed masked men both brandishing firearms held up the receptionist and removed the cash.

After committing this act the two suspects ran away in the direction of Orange grove road.

The detective department is further investigating this case.


On Thursday October 24th around 3.30pm a lady with the initial J.A.SB from the Nederland’s came to the detective department and reported that while she was walking on the Front Street in the vicinity of Gems Jewelers she was approached by three unknown met from the back that surrounded her. She then felt a sharp object been pressed against her back. The suspects them demanded her to hand over her money.

After complying with their demands the suspects then fled in the direction of the Boardwalk.

The detective department is further investigating this case.


On Thursday October 24th around 7.45 pm the police patrol from the uniformed department of the Simpson bay Sub Station was dispatched to the Triple “D” supermarket on the Airport road for an armed robbery.

Upon arrival of the patrol they were met by the owner of the establishment with the initials  J.L  from China. He informed the patrol that not to long ago the establishment was robbed by an unknown male person brandishing a firearm.

After demanding the money out of the cash register and receiving this the suspect then left the establishment and fled in the direction of the Old Simpson bay road.

The detective department is further investigating the case. 


The Police department is asking the community in general for any assistance in the above mentioned cases. We are also asking the drivers of our public roads to please obey the traffic signs and rules in our Road Safety campaign.
