On Monday, February 17th police and inspectors of VROMI- department visited a site on the Sucker garden road next to GEBE warehouse to investigate an illegal and very hazardous oil storage situation.
On the scene at least two oil storage pits were located along with numerous barrels and containers in which used oil are stored. The ground on this site is completely saturated with used oil and forms a very dangerous and hazardous situation for the environment.
The police and the department of VROMI will be conducting an in-depth investigation as to the damage done to the environment and who is responsible for this situation.
This report will be sent to the Public Prosecutors Office where the decision will be taken how to further deal with this situation.
