On the scene the investigating officers spoke to witnesses who stated that the victim in this case was Dr. R. Friday, who is a gynecologist on the island and has his office at the building in question.
Dr. Friday was taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center by private vehicle prior to the ambulance arriving on the scene.
The scene had been immediately secured by the police allowing the Forensic Department to start collecting evidence.
According to information from the medical center is that the doctor was in stable condition when he arrived however, he was taken shortly after to the operating room to be operated on.
The doctor is at this time out of surgery and in the I.C.U. for recovery and observation. He is stable and doing well.
At present no one has been identified or arrested as a possible suspect in this case. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and the police department is asking anyone that may have any information in connection this investigation to come forward. Telph. 54-22222 ext 222-224 or Tip line 9300
