P O L I C E   R E P O R T

15 year old student arrested

On Thursday January 7th a 15 year old male student from the Milton Peters College with initials J.E.G. was arrested by police at school. The reason for his arrest was that during a routine search of his school bag at the gate by the security officer at the school, quite large amount of cash was found. When the student was questioned by the security-guard about the money he could not give an acceptable explanation. Immediately the police department was informed and the student was arrested. He was taken to the Philipsburg Police Department where he was questioned by detectives. Later that evening, after questioning, the student was released in the custody of his parents. The money in question was confiscated for further investigation.

Suspect arrested for ongoing investigation

On Thursday January 7th a suspect with initials A.R.B. (25) was arrested by police in connection with an ongoing investigation of a break-in at Lizzy Lizard located on the Board Walk in Philipsburg. This break-in took place early January of this year. The arrest was done based on information that surfaced during the investigation. The suspect remains in custody for further investigation.

Skeleton remains found

On Sunday January 10th at approximately 08.40 a.m., the Emergency Central Dispatch received a call that skeletal remains of what appeared to be that of a human was found in the bushes near the Arlet Peters road (Old Cake House road) in Cay Hill. The call came in from two hikers walking through the area. Immediately a police patrol, Detectives and Forensic Department were sent to the scene to investigate the matter. On the scene the investigating officers did encounter skeletal remains of an unidentified human. The Forensic Department collected evidence on the scene and then confiscated the remains for further investigation. The identity, the sex and the cause of the death have not yet been established.
