SIMPSON BAY, St. Maarten (Wednesday, August 26, 2015)—Due to Tropical Storm Erika, which is expected to pass close to our area early Thursday morning, and in accordance with the St. Maarten and international safety requirements, the Princess Juliana International Airport, SXM, will be closed for a few hours until 11:30 AM, on Thursday, August 27, 2015.
SXM airport remained open for scheduled operations throughout its regular business hours on Wednesday, August 26.
Normal airport operations at SXM will resume, hopefully Thursday as soon as the weather conditions permit.
The traveling public is hereby advised to check with their respective airlines for flight information.
SXM Airport will continue to keep all its personnel, users and stakeholders informed of any further developments as these occur via the various media outlets.
