P O L I C E   R E P O R T : PUBLIC NOTICE – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED AFTER BREAK-IN

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Police Department is making known to the public that permission has been granted to LDW Holding Ltd to carry out delivery of building supplies at Boardwalk Blvd 15. These deliveries are scheduled for the early morning hours on Thursday October 1st and Friday October 2nd 2015 since no cruise ships are scheduled to be in port.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
The “Friendly Island Cycling Association” has been granted a permit to keep a Triathlon on Sunday October 4th 2015. The race will start at 07.30 a.m. on the premises of Port de Plaisance on Union road. The cycling part of this event will leave the Port de Plaisance and turn left on the Union road to the East side round about of the Cause Way Bridge.

The race will then continue via the Cause Way Bridge to the round about at the PJIA main building and then return to the East Side round about. Three laps of this route will be done before ending at Port de Plaisance. During the cycling race the Cause Way Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic until the race is finished. After the race the bridge will again be open immediately allowing all traffic to flow normally. All drivers should take keen note of the information to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience.

TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED AFTER BREAK-IN
The Central Emergency Dispatch on Thursday, October 1st at approximately 12.30 p.m. received a unanimous call informing them of an ongoing break-in at an apartment on the Umbrella Cactus Drive in Sucker Garden. The caller also gave a good description of the suspects. Immediately several police patrols and detectives were sent to the location to investigate. A police patrol in the area saw a small white in which two men were driving who fit the description of the suspects in this case.

The vehicle with the possible suspects were chased and stopped by the patrol. During a search of the vehicle a bag containing several electronic items and tools were found. Neither suspects could give an acceptable explanation where the items came from or who the owners of the items were. Both male suspects 19 and 21 years old were arrested on the spot and taken to the Philipsburg Police Station where they remain in custody for further investigation. The electronic items and the white vehicle were confiscated for further investigation.
